What is my next step? Confirming your Place & Covid-19 Precautions

Your application has been reviewed and approved, and your Community Organiser has agreed to nominate you. Congratulations! But what should you do next?

Confirming your Place

From now on all communication about the training will be via Teachable, our online Learning Management System. You have now been enrolled on the Teachable system and there is a wealth of information available - and more will be added as the course progresses.

If you have not done so already, please confirm your place on the training by paying your £200 Registration Fee here. If your local chapter or organisation has agreed to fund this course on your behalf please send an email to [email protected] and she will confirm your place with you directly. Once enrolled, you will receive further information through Teachable regarding registration and pre-reading for the course.

What about Covid-19?

As you know, we planned to deliver the three-day residential element of the Regional Community Leadership Training at the Queen’s Foundation in Birmingham this November. However, since the increased Covid-19 restrictions our venue has (understandably) cancelled the booking. With so many of us unable to travel, and with the situation unlikely to change by November, this is a sensible decision that aligns with our own concerns.

But fear not! A crack team of Community Organisers, led by our Executive Director, Matthew Bolton, are working on a plan to deliver the training on the same dates in November online. It won’t quite be the same as the residential experience, but we have been experimenting with training online, and know that we will be able to deliver the same learning outcomes for the course, even if the setting is rather different.

It is unlikely that we will be running any more residential training until the Spring/Summer next year, but for those of you who have applied for this course, you have the following options:

  • participate in the 3-day training on November 18th-20th online in lieu of the residential course;
  • participate in the 3-day training on November 18th-20th online, but then access 3 days of additional workshops face-to-face when it is safe at some point in the next 18 months;
  • defer your place to whenever we next do the 3-day training on a residential basis.

We assume that most people will want to pursue options 1 or 2, but please let [email protected] know if you would like to defer.   We hope this gives the widest range of options and will offer something to those who don’t want to miss out on the residential opportunity, as well as to those who don’t want to delay their access to training.

Either way, we’re confident that November’s training will be as powerful as it is pioneering – and we hope to see you then!

If you have any queries contact [email protected] in the first instance.
